Despite its rapid success, the Granturismo S has very sporty characteristics, too many for some, especially for the F1 gearbox considered "brutal" at low speed. Maserati therefore offers in 2009 the best compromise between the two previous versions: the Granturismo S Automatica.

On the aesthetic side, it is close to the original 4.2 but sports magnificent 20-inch “Trident” rims.

Once again the difference is on the mechanical side and mixes the best elements: the M139S engine of the F430 V8 of 4.7l for 440hp and the sports exhaust with valves of the “S”, the automatic ZF gearbox at the front and the suspensions Skyhook.

The result is the perfect balance (49/51), the engine's rage and sound, performance, but not at the expense of comfort.
