In 2005, After the coupe in Gransport, Maserati adopted the same recipe to offer the sulphurous Gransport spyder and offered a special series for its 90th anniversary.

The line designed by Giugiaro is adorned with more pronounced side skirts, adopts specific 19-inch rims, a radiator grille and different spoilers. The interior receives a sportier treatment for the seats, pedals and steering wheel, like the coupe.

On the mechanical side, the 4.2l V8 is pushed to 401 hp, the gearbox ratios are changed as well as the suspension rating and mass balance is improved.
The spyder’s short wheelbase gives the package additional agility.
