A6GCS Berlinetta #2059
1954
At the end of 1953, Pininfarina produced a "Berlinetta" on an A6GCS/53 chassis for a special order from Guglielmo Dei, a MASERATI agent from Rome whose customers wanted to be sheltered during the races.
Only 4 examples of this magnificent car were built between the end of 1953 and 1954. Its concave grille separated from the headlights was a source of inspiration for the design of the shield of the current Granturismo.
Chassis #2059 was presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1954, in a dark red livery with a white stripe, a plexiglass windshield and an air inlet on the hood.
Then repainted in Ivory color and after several races in Italy, it was sold to the USA, kept as is, it was restored as originally in 2000.
